Washing machine drum, Convex Security Mirrors, wool, screws, knobs
Installation view at Givon Gallery, Tel Aviv, 2006.
Selfportrait is a sculptural assemblage built from a reclaimed washing-machine drum fitted with convex security mirrors. Wool is threaded through the drum’s perforations so that it sprouts like hair from a scalp; in place of a face, a convex security mirror stands in. Sited in the corner of the gallery, the work folds the room and its visitors into a single, shifting reflection, reading as a discreet, watchful presence.
