Mundane Superpowers
2018.

A poster of a still shot taken from the film ’Stalker’ (1979) with the character Monkey slanting her eyes with a concentration on a glass of water placed on the table in front of her. The poster is glued to the wall of the backyard of my apartment, with a cloth line suspended from the place of the poster where the character’s eyes are on the wall facing it.
In many of my sculptural works, I use the technique of suspending elements in the air, as if imitating telekinetic abilities of moving inert without the touch of a hand. In this work, I use the cinematic persona of Monkey and her telekinetic powers to aid me with drying laundry in the air.
