Lecterns

Drawing series 2013-2015.

The series is based on found images of lecterns from the Internet and reflects on these objects as ones that create places of authority for whoever stands behind one, speak, dictate or preaches. It’s an ambivalent space, something simultaneously intimidating and reassuring. The series serves as a metaphor for the authority problem in personifying these objects.
